STONE MOUNTAIN, GA TO CASTLEBERRY, AL.
276 Miles.

24 November, 2004: After leaving Atlanta, we drove to a Passport America park near Castleberry, Alabama, just off I-65 at exit 38. It was named Country Sunshine RV Park. There were eleven large grassy pull through spots, each with full hookups. The spots were regularly priced at $21.00, but with our PA membership 50% discount price, we paid $10.50. The lady who collected our money apologized for a recent rate increase but we told her we understood and her park was worth at least that.

We try to keep a day of driving to approximately 200 miles. Driving this distance is less tiring and allows us to stop earlier in the day, increasing the chance of finding a decent campsite. We use Rand McNally's Trip Maker software for planning our trip. We also use a Garman III Plus GPS unit. It is handy for when I get turned around. (Suzie calls it "LOST"). Anyway, I don't have to ask anyone when I'm uncertain of where I am. I just check the GPS.

It's not near as embarrasing as stopping and asking someone for directions. Return:
